Route 3: Cala Cerrada

Cala Cerrada

Cala Cerrada is one of the most spectacular nature whims we have on the Costa Cálida. It has remained in an almost virgin state thanks to its difficult geographical location in the middle of Cabo Tiñoso. Cala Cerrada has a wonderful pebble beach and turquoise waters on its north side and another beach to the south. Its bottoms of up to 20 meters deep are home to a large meadow of posidonia and species that are no longer so easy to see in a dive: scrapie, flying fish, crayfish, hermit crabs, squid, groupers, scorpions, shrimp.

The most beautiful beach in Spain

A privileged enclave on the coast, where the clarity of the waters and the sunlight have achieved seabed of extraordinary beauty. Inside the cove, in depths up to 14 meters deep, we find a wide and abundant meadow of Posidonia Oceánica, which in addition to being indicative of the excellent quality of its waters, provides shelter and protection to the fauna of the area. It is here where you can sometimes see rare species such as the San Pedro fish or even Seahorses.

The paradise of the Bay of Mazarrón

The environment of the cove is impressive, protected by the surrounding elevations, it presents caves and hollows of different sizes and shapes, ravines that descend from the mountains and curious rock formations. Finally, and joined by a tongue of land is Cala Abierta, another cove that, without having the uniqueness of its sister, also offers us a very photogenic picture.
